HOUSEWALK

At HOUSE WALK, we want to help you "own" your house whether it is a house that you are looking to buy, a house you have put an offer on or just bought, a house you are comfortable in, or a house that you are not sure still meets your needs.

Our proposal is that by following some specific journeys or walks around your house you will learn more about it than you will by wandering around it without a plan or purpose. For each of these journeys, it is our hope to give you a method to your madness. It may seem a good idea to have a lot of different people give advice, but we recommend that you create and follow your own plan because ultimately you must decide.

If you are looking at houses, you want to start by making sure that you understand the MLS listing for your house. As you look at the house, you will find that there are certain signs that you will want to look closer at. This does not mean that these are reasons not to buy a house, it just means, what you want to look closer at as you plan your visit.

If you are meeting a house, you want to start by looking at a disclosure of what the seller is telling you about the house. The laws about a disclosure are different in each state, but you should be familiar with what the disclosure says in your state. If for some reason you are not provided a disclosure, you can ask for one, or you can ask the questions that are typically in a disclosure or find examples here.

If you want be knowing your house, you should consider having one or more inspectors to look at your house and help them tell you what they see that you might not already see. It is important that your inspector is qualified as well as making sure that you are clear on what the inspector will and won't be looking at.

If you convinced that you will be leaving your house, you should decide if you want to leave the house without making changes or to make the most of the value of your house or to help your house exit be sooner than later.
